Awww, I was a little sad to read about the beaver overpopulation. I realize there needs to be a balance but … I just love beavers so much! (I mean … true on all counts.)
How can you not love those little maniacs, so absolutely determined to architecture the bejezus out of every waterway?
Love your bird photos, especially the nuthatches! ❤️
"There used to be a yearly “Muskrat Fry” in the Pine Barrens, but maybe we need to have a Beaver BBQ to get their numbers under control."

This reminds me of a doc I saw about similar efforts to promote the culinary use of nutria. Suffice to say, I'll alway love Kermit Ruffins, but won't be eating in his restaurant any time soon 🤢
Reminds me of the capybara eating during Lent, in South America. I never got to visit the Pine Barrens muskrat fry. They ended it a few years ago, before I moved south:
Awesome outing! Ring-necked Ducks and Brown Creepers are always such joy-provoking birds. And even if they were distant I’d say those ducks still count.
An encounter with a Brown Creeper always feels like a gift the bird is opting to present to anyone watching—a gift any birder will happily and thankfully accept.

I love them too but there's a thing as too much beaver.
I think Futurama did an episode on this. 😂

Thank you for sharing.
Yes, I'll definitely be looking for creepers more often.
