I was lured back to the tabletop RPG gaming table as well and it feels like the only thing I do in my life that is 100% "just for fun." I am in a D&D campaign and a Cyberpunk campaign and they are both a blast.

That's great! As an adult, I'm finding that any activity I can find where people aren't simply drinking is a rare thing. And I enjoy the hell out of these games. I'm joining another one locally soon.

More Jersey memories. The first 5 years in Jersey I lived in Rockaway, and commuted through Parsippany to Nutley. Going over a hill there, you caught the first glimpse of the trade towers.

Some years later on Sept 11, 2001 I was teaching a class in Parsippany. I ended the class early and headed home to Matawan. I'll never forget coming over that hill and seeing them not there, replaced by a column of smoke.

You could see them from Nutley on the hill at East Centre Street as well. Until you couldn't. I was working in midtown that day, luckily I didn't go in after I heard that the first plane hit.

And from Keyport. We'd aim for them to get to the #1 buoy.

I can 100% see you playing a lawless battle cat who fights for good -- actually I think you might be channeling some other you from the next universe over.

I was hoping to see some petroglyphs myself in Joshua Tree this New Year’s but apparently theirs are too accessible to a hiking trail & began to be defaced (which is obviously disgusting) so maybe it’s all for the best that the ones you were looking for are pretty well hidden. (The ones in Joshua Tree have been closed down somehow and are no longer accessible.)

I'm having a blast!

I'm not into punishment, but if I caught people defacing petroglyphs I might do something rash.

I really enjoy reading about your adventures, Tommy. And your jaguar character is lovely. Keep having fun, whatever else you do.
