It's the sort of thing I would like to have experienced.... But not what I'd like to experience now.

But great to see the photos and hear your recollections.

Same here! I'm glad I went, but it's not something I'll likely do again.

I’m still sorting out my thoughts about it all. So much great art! So much excess too. They do still have a post office though and since I know you love mail ... you might just be getting something from Black Rock City soon. ☺️

P.S. I am not sure how it’s possible to be drunker than that pic and would like some kind of witness statement or physical proof please.

I tagged the witnesses and they can come forward if they please.... That photo is more evidence than I should have shared

I'd prefer to be in nature doing nature things like current Thomas.

My dentist is at Burning Man with her kid and I'm not sure whether I look forward to or dread a play-by-play description at my next checkup. But as I have a kid who came out as a furry a few years ago, I'm taken by your mention of that community and look forward to looking it up! Very misunderstood identity. 🦊

People love poking fun. Like any fandom, there's a spectrum. I got into it mostly from the animation side, in college, and made a lot of friends. I'm still in touch with one. I drifted away about 20 years ago, I didn't want it to be a lifestyle. A lot of fandoms encourage that, and it's fine, just not for me. The fox knows many things... and doesn't like being pigeonholed!

Very true!

If I'd known furries were something people could be, I could have said my kid was one when they were about 2 years old. It's remarkable how much kids will be who they truly are if you just let them. (Winged wolves are actually the current iteration but fox vies with dragon for close second.)

I like this; I've never had any interest in attending Burning Man and don't expect I ever will, but to each their own. I know people who love it. Also, this is the first I'm hearing of things going awry this year. One of the benefits of keeping one's head buried in the news sand as it relates to a lot of things, I guess. Still, I'm happy to hear our mutual friend is okay.

We've been in touch. I don't think anyone has complained much, but the pundits and "news" personalities are as usual, writing their narrative of People We Don't Like Act This Way.
