As Bilbo might say, I’m feeling “sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread,” so I’m not going to force some writing out this weekend. I need some more outside time. American vacations are often not relaxing, because we don’t have as many days for holiday; I drove well over a thousand miles in a week, most of it in two days, for us to see what we wanted in San Diego, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, Idyllwild, Route 66, and the Grand Canyon.
Here’s a photo teaser of what’s to come.
The San Diego Zoo; La Jolla Beach; Palm Springs; The Cabazon Dinosaurs; Idyllwild in the San Bernardino Mountains; Joshua Tree National Park; Hi Jolly’s Tomb; Kingman, Arizona; The Grand Canyon; The Wild Burros of Oatman, Arizona on Old Route 66.
Until then, off I fly like this Red-Bellied Woodpecker, who lands at the feeder only for a second or two before stashing peanuts in the aluminum siding of my neighbor’s house.
Great photos! Looking forward to reading about your travels
Enjoy your road trip and time in Nature.
