My year ended in grief, in parallel with the season that symbolizes death. There is beauty in winter. We had snow for Christmas, the first time I can remember in over thirty years. This Sunday, I will share my visit to a New England cemetery with beautiful headstones and fascinating history. In the meanwhile, let us say goodbye to this year and prepare for the next.
I moved this turtle from the trail to the edge of a bog. Look at those handsome nostrils!
The black and white photo is from Christmas Eve: deer resting in the snow on a golf course, taken from my stepfather’s window. Happy New Year to you all! I’m going for a bike ride.
All my sympathies. 💗
Also, that turtle does have the most handsome nostrils I’ve ever seen.
Happier new year to you and Sarah, Tom. Having folks like you on the side of decency makes me feel better about the battles ahead.
But in the meantime, *SO* sorry for your loss!
