Book Event at Watchung Booksellers June 8th
and indie bookshops carrying Vyx Starts the Mythpocalypse
It’s been a good while since I had a book event. I will be at Watchung Booksellers in Montclair, New Jersey on Saturday June 8th, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, for a Meet & Greet at this iconic independent bookstore. I’ll be signing all of my books, but it’s Pride Fest in Montclair that weekend, and Vyx Starts the Mythpocalypse stars a non-binary protagonist, so it’ll be front and center.
I won’t be reading, but come and visit, there’ll be cookies or something for a nosh. I’m sorry, I can’t bring a steam tray of disco fries, but you can get some at the nearby Chit-Chat diner, of which Tod would approve. The book starts in Jersey City, but the town where Vyx buys hiking boots while people drink wine outside is Montclair, when there used to be a Patagonia shop next to Amanti Vino. Long gone, unfortunately, but you can explore Eagle Rock where Vyx sees the first faery house, and find a turtle back rock up there…
If you can’t make it, but still want to support independent bookshops, The Green Hand in Portland, Maine has copies of Vyx on their new arrivals table, in good company:
If you would like a signed paperback, you can buy one directly from me. I have a few copies of Blade of Dishonor, Bad Boy Boogie, and The Boy from County Hell on as well. You can also order the paperback of Vyx Starts the Mythpocalypse from Amazon. The e-book is available on Kindle and all other e-book formats.
I am a strong supporter of public libraries, and all my books, are available via your public library. This is the Overdrive link for Vyx, and if you’d like to help the book, please request it from your library using that link. It’s unlikely they will order the paperback, but the e-book is available via Libby in Overdrive, if they choose to purchase it. It is also available through Hoopla.
Will I be doing more events? I am trying to schedule events at Second Time Books and Inkwood Books, and I will let you know if they happen.
My kid will not stop talking about how much they love this book! They just started Inkheart, a gift from my mom, and said Vyx Starts the Mythpocalypse was so much better. 🦊 (Also they said, "Where's the second one?" and I said I thought you were writing it and they said, "Can I pre-order it?")
You make real stuff as good as made-up stuff. Lookit ya, subverting magic all over the place!
